Location
The Cottage is located in the Loch Lomond and Trossachs National Park, enabling you to explore Scotland and many of its most beautiful landmarks; Ben Lomond, Ben Ledi, Loch Lomond, Stirling Castle and The Wallace Monument.
Old Smiddy residents can enjoy fly fishing from a boat on Loch Katrine (only a few steps away)! Take a ride on Loch Katrine’s famous ss Sir Walter Scott - the only surviving screw-driven steamer in Scotland, which has sailed the loch since 1920!
At any of the local courses you can take the opportunity to play golf in the surroundings it was intended for, try a range of watersport activities on the surrounding lochs, or use nearby leisure club facilities. There are also plenty of walking and cycling routes enabling you to discover some unforgettable views.
Nearby villages offer a choice of pubs, restaurants, unique shops and a host of colourful festivals run all year round. The Trossachs Discovery Centre makes an ideal place to visit and learn more about this exciting area.
